Jennifer Apariceda Goncalves da Maia (born October 6, 1988) is a Brazilian female mixed martial artist who competes in the Flyweight Division. Maia trains at Chute Boxe Academy in Brazil. She is currently signed with The Ultimate Fighting Championship. As of September 7, 2022, she is #8 in the UFC Women's Flyweight rankings.

Maia was born and raised in Curitaba, Brazil. She was first introduced to martial arts at a local gym where she was lifting weights for bodybuilding. The room next door to the weight room hosted Muay Thai, so Maia decided to try it out and took to it quickly. At age seventeen Maia began teaching Muay Thai and continued that for four years. Maia also competed in three professional boxing matches around this time and went 3-0. Eventually, she transitioned to MMA to make more money.  Maia began training under Edicarlos “Monstro” Goncalves to work on her jiu-jitsu and get over her fear of grappling. Maia has trained under Goncalves for her entire career and the two eventually got married. Maia is a black belt in both Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai.

Maia made her MMA debut in 2009 and went 5-1-1 on the Brazilian regional circuit. All four of her wins were finishes (four submissions and one TKO). Her sole loss was to future Bellator Flyweight Vanessa Porto via armbar (Kumite MMA Combate). On March 16, 2012, Maia entered the Cage Warriors Women's Flyweight Tournament, losing to Sheila Gaff by KO. Maia would bounce back with a win over future UFC Women's Strawweight Champion Jessica Andrade at Samurai FC 9: Water vs. Fire. Maia spent the next six years bouncing around Invicta FC and smaller Brazilian promotions. She went 9-2 in her next eleven fights, with her biggest win coming over Porto (Invicta FC 16: Hamasaki vs. Brown)(Fight of the Night) by unanimous decision to avenge her previous loss and claim the interim Invicta FC Flyweight Championship. Maia would be promoted to undisputed champion and defend her title against Roxanne Modafferi (Invicta FC 19: Maia vs. Modafferi)(Fight of the Night) and Agnieszka Niedźwiedź (Invicta FC 26: Maia vs. Niedzwiedz)(Performance of the Night). Her two losses were to Leslie Smith (Invicta FC 6: Coenen vs. Cyborg) and DeAnnna Bennett (Invicta FC 10: Waterson vs. Tiburcio), both by unanimous decision.

Maia made her UFC debut against Liz Carmouche on July 14, 2018 at UFC Fight Night: dos Santos vs. Ivanov. Maia lost by unanimous decision. Maia picked up back to back unanimous decision wins over Alexis Davis (UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Pettis) and Modafferi (UFC on ESPN: dos Anjos vs. Edwards), although she missed weight in her second bout with Modafferi. Maia would miss weight again against Katlyn Chookagian (UFC 244), losing by unanimous decision. Maia bounced back with a submission victory over Joanne Calderwood (UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Shahbazyan)(Performance of the Night) and earned a title shot against Valentina Shevchenko (UFC 255). Maia would lose to Shevchenko by unanimous decision.

Since losing to Shevchenko, Maia has picked up a unanimous decision victory over Jessica Eye (UFC 264) and lost back-to-back fights against Chookagian (UFC on ESPN: Kattar vs. Chikadze) and Manon Fiorot (UFC on ESPN: Blaydes vs. Daukaus) by unanimous decision. As of 9/7/2022, she is set to face Maryna Moroz on November 11th, 2022.
