Kawamura has fought at Light Heavyweight and is currently a Middleweight. He has fought in Pancrase, Sengoku, and ONE FC. He holds notable wins over Daniel Acacio, Hiromitsu Kanehara, Yuta WatanabeAntonio Braga Neto, Keiichiro Yamamiya, and Shungo Oyama.

Kawamura won the 2006 Pancrase Light Heavyweight Neo Blood Tournament by defeating Yuta Watanabe and Sumio Koyano, both by first round KO. He is the former Light Heavyweight King of Pancrase which he won by defeating Keiichiro Yamamiya. He held onto the title and only relinquished it when he dropped to Middleweight. He won the Pancrase 2012 Middleweight Tournament by defeating Yuji Hisamatsu and Ikkei Nagamura and was awarded the Middleweight King of Pancrase title which he still holds.
