Instead of spamming the boards everytime I see some cool news, I’ll post it here. I’ll also keep track of prospects I like, new signings to ufc/dwcs/Bellator/etc.

The site fee for a single event reaches an eight-figure sum. That's wild.

Has St. Louis or Louisville paid site fees? Is it worth it for some cities? Ideally, hosting events should stimulate the local economy but we don't know if it's offset by site fees. It also benefits UFC to host live events by building stars when they compete in front of crowds, gate and merchandise money, and growing a fan base. Fans like to watch live fights, it's hard to do that when the bulk of your events are in a little warehouse in the same city.

Yes, if ufc is going outside the apex in 2024, it’s because wherever they’re going are paying them to show. It helps in some places, like SLC for example. SLC is seeing a lot of growth as many businesses are putting HQs there, and the tourism board has been investing in sports heavily. I’m pretty sure an NHL team just relocated there, and they already have an NBA team, among other smaller pro teams. I mentioned it a few weeks ago, but the owner of the jazz has connections to endeavor (PE firm owns both endeavor and his company, qualtrics), and he used that to foster a relationship with ufc. Ufc is bringing a ppv there every year, because he believes it brings a lot of tourism to SLC (and they really need it because what other reason do you have to go to Utah lol)

Speaking from experience, when the ufc came to Boston for the first time in (I think) 5 years, the city went crazy. There were ads everywhere for the fights and everywhere I went in Boston, someone had a ufc shirt on or pointed out my shirt that I was wearing. The Boston sports market is already massive as it is, but I think this example shows how fervent ufc fans are. I think it’s totally worth it for other cities to pay the site fee

Of course the caveat of site fees are that it limits where they can go, as some countries/cities (especially those outside North America) can’t afford it or don’t have the proper infrastructure to support ufc events and the connected tourism increase

Arlovski vs buday moved to ufc 303. Not sure why that garbage needs to be on a mcgregor ppv but oh well

Everyones crapping on the Arlovski fight but if it is a retirement fight it deserves to be on a PPV

Billy q says the July 13th event (rumored to be in Tampa) is getting moved. Rumored location atm is Denver Colorado 

Mcgregor card is looking really weak 

Brendan Allen hinting at fight news. Could either be replacing periera/dolidze or shara fight 

Allen is a gamer regardless of what anyone wants to say, kudos if he accepts either fight of Shara/Perreira. Most in his case would be gunning for a top 10 or above only fight.

Any update on the headliner for June 15th?  

Nope. It turns out that will be the 100th apex event, very fitting that it’s in a month and doesn’t have a headliner. Expect Tagir vs perez to headline because the ufc is lazy

Actually now that I think about it, UFC’s gotta start announcing more fights soon. There’s still 3 events in June that aren’t completed; ufc has gone radio silent on the Saudi card, same with June 15th 

For June, it's really just whether we're getting a main event for 6/15 and whether Shara Bullet is gonna be on the Saudi card. Like you said, it'll probably just be Tagir vs. Perez on 6/15. 

We should definitely get some announcements soon though, because the July cards are pretty baron considering May is already half over. 

lol cmon ufc isn’t putting out a full card with 10 and 11 fights respectively. There’s gonna be 2-3 extra fights each on those carfs

Especially for Saudi considering how badly they botched the first card
